RUNNING
BAREFOOT: Women
Write the Land
Edited by Wynne Edwards and Dianne
Linden
In Running
Barefoot, women share some of their most sacred and profound experiences in
relationship with the land. Readers who have lived in Western Canada, or have been moved
by the beauty of the earth, will be challenged to look deeper and experience more fully
the world in which they live.
The inspiration for this collection was a
gathering of Western Canadian women to perform music by Carolyn McDade. The CD produced by
this group, entitled We Are the Land We Sing.
Wynne
Edwards has
worked with women collectively on a number of writing projects. Most recently she edited Study in
Grey: Women Writing About Depression, with Shirley Serviss (Rowan Books, 1999).
Dianne
Linden is
a teacher, writer, editor, and grandmother who feels a deep concern and respect for this
earth we call home. Her work has been published in Canada, Britain and the United States.
Rowan Books (no longer active) was the
original publisher of Running Barefoot: Women Write the Land
